Tilo’s Meaning and Tradition

On May 22, 1905, Isaías González, an Asturian Mining Engineer, reflected on the challenges of the harsh economic context in his homeland. Determined to seek a better future for his family, he decided to leave his home and embark on a journey from Spain to America.

After a long and arduous process, he managed to settle down in the new continent, and brought his wife and son to join him in the adventure. They had three additional children, and cemented the values of a resilient, hard working, and entrepreneurial family.

The Tilo tree, commonly found in the Asturian region, symbolizes the restless, bold, integer, and diligent spirit of Isaías, passed down through four generations, and vividly present in this endeavor.
